Sub-serving Banking Needs Of Villagers In Rajasthan Through Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank
According to the 1976 Act of Regional Rural Banks, there were a number of Gramin banks established all over the country. They were aimed at providing banking facilities to the poorer village people, who didn’t have huge incomes. Although, this doesn’t seem very lucrative from point of view of banking business, yet such banks catered to the development of habits of savings and taking credit from the banks at lower rates of interest. As a result of such banks, a lot of people in the village set ups were starting to go into banks and undertake different types of financial transactions for their own benefits.
- Gramin bank for benefiting villages in Kota in Rajasthan –
Under such a scheme of establishing RRBs in Rajasthan, which had a sizeable village population, the Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank came into force. This Gramin bank had its jurisdiction in and around the villages of Kota district in Rajasthan. HKGB had its presence in various villages in the region of Kota, with its headquarters in the town of Kota. It helped the villages to put their money into saving accounts and could also take up credits for various agricultural and small scale industries.
Presently, after the merger of Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank with two other regional rural banks in Rajasthan, these are collectively known as Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank or BRKGB and from 2013, the head office of this new bank will be in Ajmer. The merger was facilitated by the sponsoring bank of Bank of Baroda.
- Job opportunities –
A number of banking aspirants could get jobs in the different branches of Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank in the region of Kota. Like any other scheduled bank in India, these bank branches required staff including probationary officers, office assistants, clerks and other staff for multipurpose work. Due to this requirement, people could submit their applications, as and when the job vacancies were published. Pay structures for the staff of Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank are in line of the scheduled banks of India, which suggests that these positions were in adequate demand among the candidates.
- IBPS recruitment drives for HKGB
From time to time, Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank takes out its advertisements for the recruitment of officers and clerks in different branches. In the year 2011, the recruitment responsibility was given to IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection and there are advertisements for Common Written Exam for recruitment to various RRBs in clerical and officer cadre jobs.
Interested candidates can appear in the IBPS CWE for the RRBs and apply to the Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank, whenever there is an advertisement from this particular bank. This will allow the candidates to go for the interviews with their specific Total Weighted Score or TWS to the interviews, if their score is more than the cut off published by the HKGB in the advertisements.
Such a declaration allows candidates to submit their applications for vacancies published by HKGB only if they have secured marks which are more than the cut off for that particular advertisement.
